I read the Lord of the Rings series when I was about 12 years old and it was a challenge! Since then, I have watched the movies several times over and loved them. So, eleven years later, I thought it was about time to re-read the series and see how it went.
Loved it!
I know that LOTR polarises people, either you love or hate it in NZ but I don’t think that poeple can deny that Peter Jackson was faithfull to the essence of the books when he made the movies.
Things to notice second time round:Council of Elrond is very loooooong. Learned heaps about the history of Middle Earth. There are connections between Harry Potter and LOTRGandalf is awesomeThere are a lot of songs…. a lot! But you have to read them cause they give heaps of insight into the future of the characters etc etc like Aragorn.
